Your First Visit

After arriving for your first appointment, you will be asked to fill out a case history. The doctor will then review your health history to determine if your problem can be helped through chiropractic care.

A thorough examination will be conducted which will include a complete orthopedic and neurological examination and a computerized spinal analysis to detect any structural abnormalities and locate areas of your spine causing nervous system interferences. If necessary, x-ray views of your spine may be taken.

If your condition can be helped through chiropractic care, a personal program will be designed for you. If your condition is not within the scope of chiropractic, you will be directed to the appropriate health care specialist.

With a complete understanding of your condition, your chiropractic spinal adjustment will be administered. An "adjustment" means the specific manipulation of spinal bones that are slightly displaced or fail to function normally. It consists of applying pressure to the areas of the spine that are out of alignment (subluxation) causing disturbance to the nervous system. Adjustments help restore proper spinal function and begin the healing process.
